Although neither the Arts Section nor the Dance Librarians Discussion Group will be meeting formally at the Seattle conference, I would like to propose an informal outing to a performance of the Pacific Northwest Ballet, which will be presenting its “Broadway Festival” program (which includes pieces by Balanchine, Robbins, Stroman, and Wheeldon) during this time.
Friday evening (March 13) seems to offer the fewest potential conflicts with conference events. Group of tens or more receive a discount of 20% on tickets, but there is also a 20% promotional discount (through the Take Part in Art festival) currently on offer for that performance as well, if we cannot meet that mark. Even if you can’t make it on the 13th, I highly recommend catching another performance while you are in town.
If there is sufficient interest in the 13th, I will get in touch with those of you who respond (through this blog) individually to follow up.
Hope to see some of you in Seattle! There is also the possibility (if we can squeeze in a time that works for everyone) of arranging a brief tour of the PNB library at the Phelps Center during the afternoon of Saturday, March 14.
